The existing dwelling is a pre-war detached house of traditional layout that did not include a ground floor toilet.
The client wished to provide a front extension to include a porch and ground floor cloakroom. The existing roof of the bay window was extended to meet the new extension to provide an appearance in keeping with the character of the dwelling.
A front entrance canopy was also provided to provide additional detailing compatible with properties in the surrounding area.
