Hadley Gardens
The existing house was a mock Georgian semi-detached property that occupied a corner plot.
The owner required further kitchen and utility areas on the ground floor and to extend the existing bedrooms on first floor. There is always close attention paid to the appearance of corner plots, by their nature they are prominent within the street scene. In this case it was important that the extension appeared subservient to the original, as just extending the dwelling in line would have resulted in the property appearing unbalanced with the other attached dwelling.
