Coronation Road
This was a largest loft conversion could be allowed under permitted development. We secured a lawful development certificate for the project before work started.
The existing hip end was replaced with a gable end and a large flat roof dormer window provided to the rear. This gave almost the maximum permitted 40m3 of addition volume, this coupled with the existing large loft and the result was a huge bedroom with large en suite bathroom and walk in closet.
The main issues that related to this conversion was the size of the structural members due to the length of the roof and the support of the large chimney stack. The stack was completely removed on the ground , first and second floors to facilitate the new first floor accommodation.
